Nothing is added unless you ask
No wings, no halo, no rainbow, no name and dates across the bottom. By default you get the animal, rendered as artwork, and nothing else. If you want any of those things, say so and we will include them — but the decision is yours, not ours.
The photograph you have is the photograph we use
It is often not a good one. It may be blurry, or from years ago, or taken in the last week when they already looked unwell. Send it. We will tell you honestly whether there is enough in it to work from, and if there is not, we will not take your money.
Giving it to someone else
This is frequently bought for a friend or a parent rather than for oneself. It lands well because it is not a condolence card — it is the animal, back on the wall.
Which style
Charcoal and pencil are what most people choose: tonal, quiet, and without the brightness that can feel wrong so soon. Watercolor suits a photograph already full of light.

How is my portrait made?
Your portrait is generated with AI image tools under human artistic direction, then checked by a person for likeness before it reaches you. It is not drawn by hand by a human artist, and we do not describe it as handmade.
When do I pay?
Nothing is charged when you place your request. We make your portrait, email you a proof, and only ask for payment once you have seen it and approved it.
What do I receive?
A high-resolution digital file by email, ready to print or frame. Nothing physical is shipped, so there is no waiting on post and no delivery address to give.
What happens to my photograph?
It is stored privately while your portrait is made, and deleted once your artwork has been delivered. It is never published, shared, sold, or used to train any model.
The only photo I have is old and low quality. Is that hopeless?
Usually not. Send it and we will look before you commit to anything.
Can you remove a background or a lead?
Yes, and it is a common request. Tell us when you order.
Will you invent anything the photo does not show?
No. If part of them is in shadow, it stays in shadow. Inventing detail on an animal that has died is the one thing we will not do.
